AHFI Prep Course
The NHCAA AHFI® Prep Course is a one-day intensive program designed to highlight key content areas of the AHFI® Exam. Experienced faculty provide instruction on the key areas addressed in the AHFI® Exam enabling candidates to feel better prepared. This course should serve as a “refresher” on information that a seasoned investigator should already know.
The new AHFI® Prep Course is held twice a year and is designed to prepare applicants for the exam. In 2019, the Prep Course which will be held on the following dates.
May 7, 2019 in Scottsdale, Arizona (8:30 am – 5:30 pm)
October 15, 2019 in Nashville, Tennessee (8:30 am – 5:30 pm)
The AHFI® Prep Course has been developed based on the following areas. These represent the categories of expertise that emerged from the comprehensive analysis conducted in 2018.
- The Nature and Scope of The U.S. Health Care System
- The Business and Operations of the Health Care Insurance System
- Prevention, Identification and Detection of FWA
- Investigative, Resolution and Reporting Process
Additional information including a study guide will be provided the week prior to the course.
The AHFI® Prep Course costs $425.
The application for the AHFI® Exam is an additional cost and process.

Ways to Register
NHCAA Members only. Register online (registration is closed. Please contact email@example.com for assistance.) via secure transactions. Please have a Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express card available.

Registration Deadline: April 30
NHCAA accepts registrations after this date; however, NHCAA may not be able to include your contact information in the participant roster or have a certificate of completion on-site for you.
All cancellations (regardless of date) will be assessed with at $100.00 administrative fee.
- All written notice of cancellations and substitutions should be sent via email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Before cut-off date - To cancel and obtain a full refund (minus an administrative fee) or to request a substitution, you must provide written notice to The NHCAA Institute - NETS.
- After cut-off date - If you cancel in writing after the cut-off date, no refund will be provided but credit for future training is available. All substitution requests received after the cut-off date will be charged a $100.00 administrative fee.

All rooms are sold first come, first served. Rooms may sell out prior to the cut-off date, so book at your earliest convenience.
Participants should identify themselves as being with the NHCAA National Education & Training Series (NETS). If you are a federal employee and qualify for the government rate, please also identify yourself as qualifying for the government block.
Standard Single: $215*
Government Single: $133* or prevailing government per diem.
*Cost does not include a 13.92% in state and local taxes and a $2 per day housekeeping fee.
Reservations must be secured by one night's deposit or a major credit card. One night's charge will be applied to the individual's card for the first night's room/tax if the individual does not arrive on the designated arrival date or does not cancel their reservation 72 hours prior to their scheduled arrival date, or leaves earlier than the confirmed check out date.

The AHFI Prep Course is awarded 8 CPE Credits.
The NHCAA Institute is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit. Complaints regarding registered sponsors may be submitted to the National Registry of CPE Sponsors through its website: www.nasbaregistry.org.
NHCAA will not offer a test in person after the Prep Course. All testing is at remote testing centers.
