Focuses on introductory Excel skills, which will be demonstrated by faculty and participants will be given time to practice using sample data sets. Faculty will work with each participant to ensure technique mastery. Health care fraud examples will be used in each demonstration to connect skills back to health care anti-fraud activities. Participants will understand what types of information to request from their IT team and how to spot red flags in data in a variety of schemes across specialty areas, such as: timed units, days of week, peer comparisons, top billing summaries, upcoding, member comparisons, services not rendered, impossible days, and more.

Faculty will delve deeper into pivot tables, graphing/charting, advanced formulas, and ways to present data findings to peers and supervisors. Participants will also practice finding and recognizing more complex fraud in data.
The additional content will be presented through case study examples where participants will work through sample data sets to identify potential fraud using their newly acquired skills.

Substitution & Cancellation Policy
Registration, Substitution, Cancellation, and Deadline for Participant Roster: Friday, April 10. NHCAA accepts registrations after this date; however, NHCAA may not be able to include your contact information in the participant roster or have a certificate of completion on-site for you.
To cancel and obtain a full refund, minus a $75.00 administrative fee, you must provide WRITTEN NOTICE OF CANCELLATION to The NHCAA Institute by the Registration, Substitution and Cancellation Cut-off Date (see above). If you cancel in writing after that date, no refund will be provided. A public parking garage is attached to the building; the entrance is on Vermont Ave. Their rates are: $17 per day Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
NHCAA has not negotiated discounted rooms; however MicroTek, the facility where the training will be held, has negotiated reduced room rates with several nearby hotels.
