The presentation will identify the techniques the biller used to allow for increased and improper reimbursement for services over a number of years and across major insurance carriers. Specialties included plastic surgeons, general surgery, and orthopedics. Coding examples will be explained, and medical record examples will be explored. The faculty will help attendees understand coding guidelines that were bypassed or ignored, strategies to identify coding and documentation issues and uncovering evidence of physician participation in a scheme.
